Advocacy (FHC Community Outreach)
What is Advocacy & Why Do We Advocate?
Advocacy = Raising your Voice about issues that matter to You
When you speak about what your community health center means to you, you are an advocate. Here at Family Health Centers, Advocacy we believe that your opinion matters.
That’s why Family Health Centers Advocacy is working to connect you with resources to Raise Your Voice.
Did you know that Family Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)? This means each year we receive grant money from the government. The National & State Budgets are essential to us because they affect the services that Family Health Centers can offer.
For example, public programs like Medicaid pay Family Heakth Centers for the health care services we provide to our patients. Without this funding, Family Health Centers could not offer services to people who are most in need.
Unfortunately, not everyone sees funding for FQHCs as essential.
That’s where you come in.
When you raise your voice, you let your elected officials know that Family Health Centers and Community Health Centers matter.
Family Health Centers Advocacy will give you the tools and information you need to empower your community and become active in the decisions that impact your health, your neighborhoods, and your life. Together, we can find solutions that work.
