Telehealth / Telemedicine

Do you have to travel for health care?

Telehealth, provided for patients at all FHC facilities, is the delivery of healthcare by computer, tablet and phone.

Family Health Centers, Inc. offers a complete range of products and solutions to allow doctors and their patients to realize the numerous benefits of telemedicine. One of the greatest commonly-cited motives for the use of telemedicine technologies is the associated cost benefit. Telemedicine can be a tremendously cost effective technique of care. By treating patients remotely, both doctors and patients can be spared the time lost to travel and sitting in waiting rooms. FHC has partnered with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in this new endeavor. MUSC has provided the equipment and training for staff and providers to begin internal encounters and consultations.

What is a Telemedicine appointment?

Family Health Centers, Inc. is helping to bring patients the right care at the right time, in the right place.

Telemedicine provides you with an easy way to have an appointment with a physician or other health professional by using video technology. This means you will be able to "visit" your health care practitioner without ever having to leave your community. You will have the opportunity to see, hear and speak with a health care specialist and discuss your plan of care via a two-way television.

How do I know Telemedicine is for me?

Telemedicine is useful for many types of appointments. Talk with your health care provider to find out what appointments can be provided through telemedicine.
